September highlights:
Grace started preschool
Grace loves preschool. This is the first day. She was so excited. Her teacher sent a letter asking her to bring something that told about her summer to show and tell on the first day of preschool. Grace took the turtle which Jake had just brought home from New York. Since then she has also brought her hermit crab in for show and tell on letter "C" day. Her teacher is wonderful and quite impressed with Grace's memory.
After hot dogs in the mountains, we went on a lovely walk and enjoyed nature.
Sam: a big boy eater
Sam enjoying Lab
or Day, the last day at the pool. He walks along the couch now and he no longer wants to eat baby food. He buzzes his tongue whenever I put baby food in his mouth resulting in baby food all over the kitchen. He can say Da Da and Ba (for ball and a slightly different sound for bottle) and Kora and grandma and grandpa, he waves and says bye-bye. He also pretends to talk on the phone by putting his hand up to his ear. He still plays really well with toys, but twice this week he has smashed his fingers trying to open up the kitchen cupboards, and he has found a new friend in the toilet. It is time to put up the baby gate.
Isaac after we found him asleep in the laundry basket. He is the only one in the family who can out-sleep me.
Isaac on his first day of play group (which he LOVES). His speech is improving with the help of a speech therapist and this play group which was also offered through the program "Kids on the Move." Isaac can say two word phrases now and I am starting to understand him more. This helps when he is telling me he wants to do something like put cheese on the brownies...

Isaac in his boots going to feed the goats wormy apples.
Isaac tried to feed his turtle tomatoes he picked from the garden.

Football season has started!!! This is one fabulous part of the fall. We didn't get off to a good start though. I took Grace and Isaac to the BYU vs FSU game and Grace was tired the entire time and it was hot and crammed with people. It would have made it all worth it if BYU wouldn't have gotten stomped. As for me and September, I started running two miles a day for my jogging class. I read The Friday Night Knitting Club (I wouldn't recommend it) and White Castles (a memior I would recommend except for some naughty language) and Perfection Pending (Discourses by Russell M Nelson which I would highly recommend). I also attended Relief Society General Conference with Allie which was like a dream come true. As for Jake, his school is going well. He has been asked to join a competitive building team and has mostly A's thus far. ( I don't think is do to the treats he has been bring to class.) As sad as I am to see the summer gone, I know we have great things just around the river bend.
